Living in a whirlwind?
Do you ever feel like you are living in a whirlwind? I do.
Living in tornado alley, I have experienced my fair share of twisters. Living in a whirlwind is nothing less than terrifying.
Yet, Job 38:1-3 indicates that God often speaks in the whirlwind. It makes you wonder if it has more to do with us than him. Was a whirlwind required to get our attention? Truth is, I am afraid so.
There are so many competing and distracting voices vying for our attention. Sometimes the Lord just says, “Enough!” and takes control with a whirlwind.
Are you currently in a whirlwind? Buckle down and listen. There is a message whistling in the wind. In the middle of the thunder, lightning and pouring ran, there is a word for you as the tension rises.
The good news is that the Lord is trying to get your attention. He cares enough to allow a whirlwind. He did what was necessary to get through to you. The sooner we tune in, the sooner we will come out on the other side of the whirlwind with new and powerful insight, certain to help us navigate life once again on calmer and open seas.
The Lord speaks to us in many ways. Often through his word and worship and sometimes in a whirlwind. The method he uses is up to him. Whether we listen and learn is up to us.
What’s that? Wind picking up? Getting ready. The Lord is about to speak through a whirlwind.
