A thankful kind of love

Love the one’s you’re with. On days like today, when surrounded by so many you love, it is easy to drift into thinking about those who have gone astray in our lives. If we aren’t careful we miss the rich blessing of those within arms reach. Use those arms to embrace their presence. Hug their necks and hold them tight.  Enjoy the blessing of togetherness.

Say too a brief prayer for those who remain at a distance. Request blessings on their lives and ask the Lord to give them a tender heart prone to peace, truth, forgiveness, reconciliation and love. Remain ever hopeful for the day of redemption and reunion.

For those who pass through this season alone, with nothing more than memories of times gone by, my prayer for you is that God will remind you of your value and the difference you have made and continue to make in the lives of those you touch. May He remind you of someone special, who may not be present today but loves you dearly nonetheless.

Wherever we might be in life, today is a day for a thankful kind of love.
